Age of Wonder:

Age of Wonder (21,000 years ago)

After the Age of Enlightenment, the information and knowledge written in the many, now ancient, scrolls and tomes was put to use. The result was astonishing to all who were privileged to take part in the workings thereof.

Applying what knowledge and power gleened from such wondrous records, two great cities were constructed. They were known as the Sister City and the City of Knowledge. These cities became living souls . . . brother and sister.

Many races began searching out the knowledge within the seemingly endless information of the records deteously kept -- records gifted to mortals by the two dragons. It seemed the possiblities, and the promise of more discoveries, were endless with the aid of the many tomes and records to guide humanity.

For nearly three thousand years mankind strove as one to harness and shape many wonderous secrets. But during the last hundred years of this age, many became covetous of the secrets, wishing this knowledge as their own.

Many records began to simply vanish.

It was at the close of the Age of Wonder that the great doors to the library were shut up and guarded. Only the most trusted could enter and learn. This caused envy and strife to hatch within the hearts of those who were no longer permitted to continue learning. Heated debates concerning the use of the wondrous information gifted the races by the essence dragons began.

Races began to divide into factions.  Some departed into the Unknown Lands, not wishing to be in the midst of the increasing debates over this once open source of knowledge.
